ORANGE, Connecticut, September 29, 2026— Yesterday’s Amity Chamber of Commerce “Conversations with Gov. Ned Lamont and Senator Ryan Fazio” was a smashing success!
The Amity Chamber is deeply grateful to Governor Ned Lamont and State Senator Ryan Fazio for addressing every question straight-on, and to Kent Pierce for leading the conversations with precision and thoughtfulness. Each candidate discussed plans to sustain and enhance Connecticut’s business competitiveness and growth. Thirty-minute interviews followed by a 10-minute “lightning round” Q&A covered a wide range of subjects, including:
-Energy pricing, incentives
-Municipal assistance
-Health plan costs and concerns for small businesses
– Affordable housing; high cost of doing business; minimum wage
-Workforce concerns and training
-Funding or lack thereof for education, Medicaid, special needs
-State government accessibility and accountability (e.g., responsiveness, remote workers)
-Each candidate’s agreement and/or disagreement with their own and opposing party’s policies and/or leadership.
-Data centers
